Frequently asked questions

A General Arrangement (GA) plan shows the vessel's overall layout — decks, spaces, access points, and major features. It's the core reference document used across operations, inspections, maintenance, and compliance.

No. Decktrace focuses exclusively on areas, references, and the viewer. Your operational data stays in your system — Decktrace provides the visual integration layer.

PDF and common image formats (PNG, JPEG, TIFF). We render PDFs into optimized tiled map assets for smooth interactive viewing.

Share tokens with configurable expiry and domain restrictions. You can revoke access and rotate tokens at any time. Fleet plan adds SSO and audit logs.

Yes. Structured export and import is included on all paid plans. PDF "Area Map" is also included for handoffs, internal documentation, and audit preparation.

Yes. Your classifications and annotations become part of your organization taxonomy, reusable across all future ships and projects — no rebuilding from scratch each time.

You draw boundaries directly on the GA plan using rectangles and polygons. Each area gets a stable ID, a type from your taxonomy, and can be linked across all deck perspectives.
